Dunno if this is the right section for it, sorry mods if it isnt.

So, me and
2t-Screamer went to a local bike training center to see how much it'll cost to get our full licenses. The woman in there said something about it all changing soon. She said it would be a 4 part test now instead of three (cbt, theory, practical).

Apparently, as off next year (think she said this) you will have to do an off-road part aswell. Anybody else in the know about what/when this is happening?

If they are after more money, im going in for my full test ASAP!

I went for some lessons other day and I was told 2007.

There is off road riding. (Sod that, not risking my bike)

And also a 45mph emergency stop.

what will happen ( i dont now when ) is that most test centres will close , in favour of SUPER CENTRES that will cater for all licences , when this happens , you will be required to demonstrate certain skills on a car park type thingy , before you venture out on the road , this means more time = more money = another kick in the nuts for motorcyclists ............

an article in mcn recently explained that IF all the proposals regarding obtaining your licence come into force , it will be easier and cheaper to obtain a private pilots licence ............

oh deep joy

all i can say is , if you have any ideas of passing your full test , you do it as soon as poss , it is going to get more difficult every year ..
just think about the cbt ( first int 1990 ) it took about 2hrs and nobody failed .......................

the way the law stands , if you pass your full test , you,ve got it for life ( also bollocks )

DO IT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eye, glad I'm doing me DAS in a couple of weeks time as I've heard that they're getting rid of it fairly soon.

Yes, these changes are due to be in by 2008, most training schools are now putting all the bits in place to teach these new requirements. New questions are also to be added (see link below).

This is the way the test is done at the moment (see below)

It's quite a bit more complicated, and I bet they keep all the road test failure methods in too. Most of that stuff will be done in training anyway, and none of it is particularly difficult, just there's a load more stuff to fail at and worry about.
