hi
i have been riding a mbk nitro for 1 year now, and now i am getting to 17 want a "proper bike". i have no experience on geared bikes so was wondering will the cbt on a geared bike and the 3 days training be enough for me to pass my test and ride a zxr 400 safely.

i no its partly down to the person how you ride but can you get away with 4 days riding experience and jump on a 400cc bike.

I jumped on a the FZR, a 600 sports, with no training or riding experience whatsoever for 7 years. Prior to that only a few months on a 400.

Just take it easy and get some extra training booked in as soon as possible. Best investment you can make.

Its complelty down to you, if you have the hand eye co-ordination of a dead weasel then its probably not advisable. But if you pick things up pretty quick, and feel comfortable about your road sense theres no reason you cant handle it.

Afterall it might be a 400 capable of 100+... that doesnt mean you HAVE to go 100+ till your capable and confident.

You can still ride around at 37mph if you feel the need Wink

bigger bikes are easyer to ride since they have better brakes more power so you dont need as much throttle control and the extra weight makes them more stable than 125s.

i would add 400s tend to be much more powerful than 500s which are mundane commuter twins while 400s are usually have origins on the track, even my old bandit400 has better brakes than my sv650

I would say the more power available the more important throttle control becomes.

Seconded. When you have less power then chances of losing the rear during a turn are lower then a powerfull bike.

badly worded, i meant you dont have to spend all your time looking for the powerband but can take it easy and know there is enough power on tap
