Well, got hold of an Airbag system, stripped the detonator out..
As most of you know, the airbag must inflate within less then half a second, so you need a wopping charge to inflate it quickly. This charge can be removed and blown.. so we wired it to a loooong cable, put a tin can ontop of it, and set it off behind a thick log to stop any shrapnel.
Pics bellow.. Tin can, not in the pic, went about 5 meters high

Charger..

Boooom.. The charger was so hot, that even after 15 mins of cooling, it melted the rubber underneath my shoe instantly when I stepped on it by mistake..
There was a lot more smoke, but I didnt take the pic early enough. Pitty I dont have a pic of the blast site.. the log had big burn marks in it

No worries.. they arent set of by thumping them.. they are set of by contacts at the front of the car, and set of when the car bumps..
If they were set off by hitting the wheel, your head would hit the wheel, then be blown so fast back, it would break your neck and back Laughing

Only safety precations id recommend are:
Do not get to close with the charger, the powder before and after is toxic.
If you can, pop the hood, and remove the battery contacts before you remove the airbag device. the charger unbolts with 4 bolts from behind the 'pack'.

Oh, and try do it at night! youl get some serious flames..
Have fun, and remember not to pick the device up for a good 20-30mins as it gets extremely hot..
