New Exhast

Hiya,
I have noticed a few people mention that having a loud exhast on my bike makes it safer for me to drive on the road, to be heard more etc. Is this true, and if so, where can i get something like that to go on my bandit 600? And how do i fit one etc?

I relied on a loud pipe to be heard more after just passing my test. The day of my test, I went out with the original on, first time riding in glasgow, and nearly knocked over two pedestrians (one I hit with mirror, he was in middle of the road).

Got a loud pipe and it worked a treat, no-one stepped out, not once. Then when I put the quiet one back on, everyone is stepping out again and not looking. So I firmly believe that they work (perhaps If I was more skilled then I'd get noticed better but I'm sure this will come with time)
