Went for a little pootle today up to Stokesley and got overtaken by a couple of guys, one on a VTR and one on a CBR600F. A few minutes later just past Chop Gate, I was helping clear the remains of the CBR off the road. Luckily the injured rider was only bruised and battered.

I've also heard there was another serious accident just south of Chopgate around the same time. Has anyone got details?

Not only that, i've only just finished reading about the female fatality on Sunday at Sherburn.

Not good news at all Sad

Nightmare Thumbs Down

I hope the riders were okay.

That's a good road along through Chop Gate, but so many people seem to get carried away (both figuratively and literally Confused ) while riding along it that it's no wonder the road's targetted so heavily by the police. It's easy pickings for them.

That trashed red R1 at a roundabout on the way to Hastings looked rather sinister perched there- i guess it was there to remind us to ride carefully.

The A21 was closed off completely between Hastings and more or less Tonbridge. I reckoned on there being a fatal accident or something there. Had that not happened, i wouldn't have found out the brilliant S bends Kent has to offer, and the fact that it's all to easy to lose it through the bends. Mind you it was a brilliant rideout, but keep it safe.

Probably this - https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_yorkshire/4506959.stm

It doesn't give much detail other than "two bikes" and "collision" - who knows whether they collided with each other or something else? Confused Sad

Apparently there was 3 accidents in Sussex today, one rider was declared dead at the scene.

I crashed 3 times since friday.

Luckily all were in 'controlled' circumstance in an ideal place to crash (several ambulances within half a mile).

Have got a very slight bruise on my right hip and that doesn't hurt anymore.

And, yes, race report will be up soon!

is the reason we got diverted

RIP

although i have to say, it wasnt very dangerous really, u wouldnt just come off riding down the road, can only think was an overtake or the traffic cleared enough and the police dispeared so it was seen as 'ok' to rag it

I heard of a bad one on the A1 north of Berwick near the Torness Power station on Saturday and read of a fatal in Cumbria. Sad

I understand the fatal was near a sideroad, not knowing the road I can only guess what happened there. Sad

Take it easy.

In answer to the subject Too many

Couple of mates I ride with, trashed a ZX6-r and a gixxer6. Not injured, but I suppose with so many bikers out over the last few days, weather and good days for it. A percentage will crash.

Saw a bike on its side with a car next to it on the A51 just North of Nantwich today. looked like the rider was filtering and a car decided to do a U turn without looking. Rolling Eyes

Assuming you're talking about the A6 I've never noticed that many people riding especialy fast or dangerously on it... The speed limit and high police presence generally put me off riding fast there, and i've rarely come accross many bikers riding much faster than me on it(though i've never ridden there during summer). You can guarantee that on a dry Sunday there will be at least one camera van at any part of the day along that route now the weathers picked up a bit.
