Because it doesn't pollute, doesn't need petrol, and the only emission it gives off is drinkable? with a few years experimentation they'll be as quick as the fastest petrol bikes of today..and safer

Only 22 Laughing but my GF says thats old Middle Finger

I blame the yanks for the oil running out they use the most in the world but only produse a small percentge of their consumption. whereas we (the brits) use mostly our (scottish Wink ) oil and import a lesser persentge. I think? I might be completely wrong so just correct me and shoot me Laughing

We had an extensive debate about the state of the worlds oil supply and its future a little while ago. I seem to remember the net opinion was that while oil will become expensive to the degree that we won't be able to afford not to move to alternative fuels, it won't run out. It's not going to happen in the immediately forseeable future and us the average consumer can't do jack about it anyway.

The only way changes will happen will be when it makes financial and economic sense for the oil companies and the US respectively to make them happen. If they don't stand to profit, they won't bother, no matter the moral cost, money is what rules. There's another interesting thread with an associated article on how the US and the UK to a slightly lesser degree is heading rapidly into bankruptcy.

If they could produce that bike so that it wouldn't cost any more to buy and run than a conventional middle range IC engined bike, and if they produced it with equivalent performance to a decent sportsbike, I'd happily buy one. Having no noise but that from the wind, tyres and electric motor would be rather fun. Smile

They have started to pump water into the oil reserves to get the oil out because the oil is not coming out under its natural pressure. The oil will last from 10 years to 30 years because of China's rapid growth and everybody in China wants a car. I believe their is about 300 million people in China?

Hi

Well the most likely source of the fuel for a fuel cell is oil. This one is powered by pure hydrogen, likely to be extracted from water using large amounts of electricity generated by a fossil fuel power station.

Suspect by the time it is commercially possible to produce a high performance fuel cell vehicle it will be politically impossible to sell one.

We have been due to run out of oil for decades. We had 10 years supplies when I was at primary school. Oil prices will certainly rise but oil will not run out as we are already very close to the point where growing crops for bio fuels is commercially viable.

All the best

Keith
