How much do they usually cost?
does it matter what you get? with car batteries you have to get different onces for different sized engines to get the best out of them (like diesels need higher ones).
500cc bike I need one for, I want to spend as little as i can but I also want a nice decent battery to go with al lthe other new parts i'm uprating.
What shall I go for? ____________________ -=[Sam/b]=- cx500's the only way to travel, we do it in style just like jimmy saville

Bike batterys come in normal and heavy duty and range in price quite considerably. I always buy heavy duty as they only cost about £10 more and last twice as long, look to pay between £28 and £45 depending on what size it is. Look in mcn for the best mail order deals. Your car charger should be fine. Have fun! ____________________ www.predatorsport.co.uk Paintball arena located between Northampton and Milton Keynes |

Hi
There are loads of different models of battery for bikes. You can get cheap ones, and they can be fine. However my experience is that they do not take being stood unused very well. As such if it is a bike in daily use and you are happy with a 1~2 year battery life then go for a cheap one, but if you are keeping the bike longer than that or it will spend some of its life standing for quite a while then stick with one of the better known makes such as Yuasa or Varta.
All the best

I've used a car trickle charger on bike batteries on several occasions with no ill consequences. It just takes commensurately less time to charge the bike battery compared to the car battery. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

I've just forked out £60 cost price for a Varta battery on my Blackbird , damn thing let me down and i too tried to revive it with a low amp car charger but it failed to hold a charge.
You get what you pay for with batteries, buy a 'Sprint' and thats what you'll be doing............running everywhere..
Buy a good brand with a good reputation. |

Varta Cost me about £35 for the NSR and I've hardly had to use the charger since December (although I use the bike almost everyday.) ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/fuzzbcf/

stupid question but do halfords sell bike batteries? i've never noticed them before, i'll just go in and buy a good make one.
actually I try to avoid buying anything from halfords if I can help it, try some smaller car motor factors I know of first. ____________________ -=[Sam/b]=- cx500's the only way to travel, we do it in style just like jimmy saville
