(Sorry if this has been posted before but I didn't check). Karma

Just bought superbike magazine and it comes with a DVD called 'Big Al's bike clinic'. It shows how to replace brake pads, adjust the chain, oil/filter change etc. Anyway the mags less than £4 and TBH I think the DVD alone is worth more than this. So if you not sure about servicing etc or your a newbie then go and buy it, it's really good and should save you a few quid in the long run. Thumbs Up

ive suggested it to a mate whos very recently just bought a bike and is taking his CBT, would it be of any use to him? a COMPLETE novice to bikes... would it be too technical or deep for him? would it go straight over his head? or would it even teach him nothing new?

i definately recommend it as ive had a bike for 6 years or so and never done much maintainence myself and this shows u the basics and will give him that extra push to do the work himself in conjunction with a haynes.

Method, your mate will be able to do his own pads and clean the pistons, adjust the chain properly, change his own oil etc. It's really easy to understand. Nothing technical about it mate. It's a Honda mechanic, working on a hornet. Explaining how to do it as he goes along. 45 mins long. Obviously you'll need your service manual 'cause all bikes are different but to watch it done is reaaly helpful.

It's just basic stuff with some good tips. If you can already do these things then it won't benefit you but for a newbie or people scared of spanners then it's really good. £3.85 you can't go wrong. Thumbs Up

Thumbs up for this one Thumbs Up
A great find and for only £3.85.

Only thing in the program that was a bit irrelevant was the wheel alignment bit. They should have shown you how to do it with a piece of string instead of the laser alignment machine no-one will have!

The bloke at the Honda superbike team look bored when he was talking about the various bits on the racing 'blade!!

Yeah, the wheel alignment bit was a bit shit. He'd have been better suggesting an equal number of turns on the adjustment screws than using the marks on the swingarm. Hey ho.

Although I do want the laser tool. Cool

Got a laser, never used it for wheel alignment yet Rolling Eyes
I'm sure somewhere the likes of B&Q, Homebase, etc. were selling these in the £10-£20 price range.

Good find Flip...i went out and got it today. Its pretty handy.

As for the wheel alignment, isn't it cheaper to use two straight planks of wood to align the wheels? Should be just as accurate.
