I've been wanting to do a track day at Anglesey for a while now, but it's location (NW Wales) has not made it a very easy thing to do on teh spur of the moment.

So - I was thinking of trying to organise a BCF trip up there, but rather than just going for a track day, trying to make a long weekend holiday/break type thing out of it.

July/August seems an appropriate time of year and there appear to be a couple of days available at the track, both open pit lane type affairs.

Arrow Friday 29 July Anglesey Full circuit Open Pit lane, 105 db £140

Arrow Friday 19 August Anglesey Full circuit Open Pit lane, 105 db £139

Bendy has already stated that she may well be up for coming along, is anyone else interested? If so can you please wack a post in this thread and I'll start making enquiries as to the cost of B&B for two or three nights. Thumbs Up

If people are interested but don't want to do the trackday, just take advantage of the fine welsh highways for a few days, well then the more the merrier I guess. Thumbs Up

Camp on the beach?

Don't think tent pegs will work too well in sand with atlantic winds blowing the hell out of them.

You can probably camp there, or get a B&B in bangor.

I'll be coming along to watch Thumbs Up

The other possibility if a few people are interested is looking for a holiday home that's for rent in the area. For a fairly large group of people it may well work out quite a bit cheaper than a b&b.

Hi

Could be good.

We can also put people up on the way if that woulod help.

Suspect that finding a place in Wales will not be cheap at that time of year.

My dad has a flat in Porthmadog so I might be able to get that, but suspect in peak season I would have to pay!

All the best

Keith

Possibly, I might actually have my license back by then (but I doubt it).

Another vote for finding somewhere to camp. Thumbs Up

Umm, great choice.....

There is a lack of b&b's here.

They normally open up the uni halls in the summer

I've just called a place that rents holiday homes and they gave me the rough quote of £300-£400 to hire a house that will comfortably sleep 10-12 people for 3 nights in Jul/Aug. Which isn't really bad at all; £10 or so per person per night. Most of the houses look pretty big/nice, with god views etc.

However most of these place do mon-fri or fri-mon for what they count as a short break, so it might be tricky to find one that will do Thurs-Sun.

<edit>
Although as cagiva gezzer says; the university may well be worth looking at cost wise as they appear to do rooms without breakfast.

Looking at my diary seems I can't make the 19th August as it clashes with an LCRRC Supermoto round I'm hopefully racing. Also there's the Snetterton trackday on the 1st August that Jay has brought up before so Anglesey on the 29th might be pushing it a bit Thinking

How about Sunday 10th July for £99 with TTP?

I'm not too fussed when, just suggested those dates because I thought they gave us plenty of time for organisation. The 10th is cool by me and as it's a sunday will possibly work out better for potential accomodation. Thumbs Up

The week from 10th - 16th is graduation up here, so you'd have to book rather early to get a b&b in Bangor or Menia Bridge.
