What are your views on these? Are they good and worth buying?

Fog City Hyperoptic ones are pretty good - not as dark as a dark visor, but still enough to cut out the worst glare Smile Thumbs Up

I haven't tried any other brands.

Do they darken up when hit by headlight? as this could cause you to be virtually blind after the car passes. If only UV light affects them, then they might be better.

Best bet, take some sun glasses with you and take them off as neccessary, unless the police don't bother oyu, but generally, I wouldn't ride in the dusk hours or at night with any visor insert in (other than the anti fog jobbies).

I take it you mean the one that darkens in bright light? I had one of these a while ago. They worked pretty well, but I'd rather use my tinted visor in daylight, it's more efficient. When the sun is low in the evening, the insert does very little to reduce glare.

I'm pretty sure they only darken when UV light hits them.

Having said that, I usually wear a dark visor on sunny days, and just carry a clear visor/Fog City combination in case it clouds over/rains.

I have both a hyperoptik insert and a dark visor w/anti fog insert.

The hyperoptik was fine 24hrs a day, never had a problem with night riding.

Went for a dark visor so I'd look like a Power Ranger with my leathers Laughing

I bought one the other day. The cheapest I found was here:

https://www.motorcycle-clothing-store.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fmotorcycle%2dclothing%2dstore%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2f&WD=hyper%20optik&PN=Helmet_Accessories%2ehtml%23a139#a139

Be careful when you put it in as I put it slightly to high on the visor, and it is a pain in the arse to open it when it has been fully closed![/url]

I got mine from Hein Gericke for £30 and they fitted it for free it is absolutely brilliant, it may not be much of a tint, but enough to make a difference, also it has Fog City technology which we all know rules to stop the visor fogging up which it no longer does. Thumbs Up

I have the Hyperoptics insert on my clear visor, TBH you might as well just buy the clear Fog City and use a black visor for sunny days. The Hyperoptics doesn't go dark enough for me to make it worthwhile, however the anti-fogging is very good.

I have the light sensitive one in a clear visor and find it does help in sunlight but not as much as a legal tint smoked visor with a legal tinted Fog City in as well.

Not sure if the 2 in together are strictly legal though Wink

Does stop misting really well but I find it a bit of a pain in dull or dark conditions as it tends to reflect car headlights off itself and the visor and create a slight ghosting type effect.

Use a black visor when you need one. Not worth the money full stop IMO. The blue doesn't cut down on glare enough so its only marginally better than using a standard visor. Sad
