I've always wanted a nice black visor (I have an OGK Aeroblade 2), and often see people about with irridium or black visors on.
The only thing that puts me off is having to pay £30 to the police for the priviledge and having it confiscated should I get pulled over.
What's your experience of the police attitude to such "illegal" visors, and have you ever been stopped for it?
Are they worth the effort or should I just stick to the tinted tear-offs I have? ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

Never been stopped and I usually always wear mine, except at night (obviously).
It just seems police have different attitudes to it. I think I remember flip saying the welsh police are bast*rds for pulling you over for a illegal visor. Could be wrong.
Just do it. More for the safety reasons than aesthetics, but you get both with a dark visor I love my dark visor, couldn't be without it in some conditions. Better than my crappy hyperoptiks insert, which turns everything blue and doesn't cut down on glare much. |

Hmm... maybe I'll get one then.
They're only £40 to buy, and i can see the benefits from having them.
Just don't want it to be more hassle than it's worth... ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

I've ridden with black visors(in daytime obviously) for years and never been stopped just for that. However more often than not the visor gets a mention during the ensuing conversation. I had a row with a copper once over the visor he told me i shouldn't be wearing it but i pointed out it was a piece of safety equipment,as i wouldn't get blinded by the low sun,i was stunned when he agreed with me and didn't nick me ____________________ Nothing gets the point across quite like a raised middle digit.
