You tend to find if someone wants your bike and knows how to take it, nomatter how much security you have, they will get it. Most of the time if the fuzz bother theyre arses then it will be found if they ride it around acting as if its theyre own. On the other hand, if the criminal is less stupid, and your bike is falsely registered or will be dismantled and sold as bits, then theres one in a million youre getting it back. ____________________ Will work for petrol

On Thursday at 2:30pm... Some guy walked into my courtyard at work today, and asked if our CCTV recorded non stop! I asked why, he explained to me, that his brand new Honda CBR600RR (blue and silver) had been stolen from an opposite building down the road at 1:30pm. Their CCTV had caught the ppl getting the bike into a Renault Traffic but didn't have the angle to get the number plate, and the van drove up toward my end of the road to get onto the A40. He did have an alarm on the bike but I don't think these ppl care, because they quickly lift the bike, throw it in the van and their off.
I checked our CCTV after work yesterday for 1 and a half hours and found the ppl pulling away and driving up the road. It's hard to see the number plate, some letters/numbers are visible, I'm just guna put it into photoshop or something on monday to see what I can do with it!
Anyhoo, point is... My bike is sitting in the courtyard with an alarm and a chain, DOES THIS ACTUALLY MATTER TO THEM? I think not! And I doubt the poor bloke will get his lovely CBR back but will do all I can to help this situation.

Had one bike stolen from outside my old work place a while ago. It was alarmed and no one took any notice, some witnesses actually told me they saw two lads pushing it along with the alarm going.
I also had a group of blokes in a white transit try to steal my R6 from outside my window at work a few years back. Again it was alarmed and disk locked. Looks like they had counted on being quick enough getting it into the van and away and that we would be a load of shirt and tie wearing office workers. They were wrong.
I heard the alarm go, looked out of the window and had to do a double take. Four blokes, a van and scarfs wrapped around their heads, three of which had the bike in the air. I shouted "the f*ckers are trying to steal my bike" and ran for the door. All my work mates did the same, one of those times where you don't think you just do.
Before I knew what was happening I had managed to grab the fleece of the lad nearest the sliding door, they were all now mostly in the van and trying to drive away. Two of my mates had gone straight for the driver, got the door open, head locked him and got the key out of the ignition. Realising they were on to a looser the other two jumped out of the back doors and made a run for it.
I managed to haul the kid I'd got hold of over the top of the bike, above my head and slammed him to the floor. He had really started to piss me off with his constant kicking me in the face and shouting "stab em, stab em". Unluckily for him he was wearing running shoes which really didn't hurt, especially with the amount of adrenaline that was now pulsing and only made me angrier. I on the other hand was wearing a fairly solid pair of boots. Funny thing was that after he came around he staggered to his feet, my attention now focussed on getting the bike back and assessing the damage, looked around then tried to run away straight into the crowd of staff that had come out to see what was happening. If he got up and headed off the way he was facing no one would have cared, but instead he just sorted of staggered around in a circle and ran straight into everyone. After being hauled to the floor again and sat on by a couple of work mates, who by this time had removed his trainers so he wouldn't get too far, he started shouting "get off me, get off me, I've got asthma!
The long and the short of it was we got hold of one of them, the driver managed to get out of the van and do a runner. The Police managed to catch up with him, at which point he assaulted one of the officers. The other Police man said to me, when he was taking my statement, and his exact words were "He assaulted one of the lads when we caught up with him. When we picked him backup of the floor he was a big bloke too".
The other two managed to escape, but not without most of the surrounding offices who had seen and heard what was going on, pouring out of their buildings and giving chase. The business park we work on had been a prime target and everyone was more than willing to get stuck in.
So what did the two that finally went to court get? 120 hours community service!!!! Unf*cking believable.
One good thing came out of it though, other than the joy of inficting pain. The management were so proud of our team work they paid for and installed a huge bike post to chain bikes to in the carpark.
I now use a silent alarm pager that only alerts me. I've found out that no one else cares if an alarm is going off. |

One attempted theft, this was on my first road bike, a dt50 long time ago. Some oike broke into our garage at home at night, me and brother heard it so went to investigate. We beat ten bells out of him. The other, me and rgv 250, got taken out in london, went to hospital, a few hours later me and a few mates came back to pick the bike up and it was gone. |

I'd really like one of those alarms that sends a text message to you when your alarm goes off. The problem is they're so expensive. I recon a few years and it'll be a little more affordable. On a side note, anyone read about the ex-SAS service that'll track your bike down for you? Think I read it in MCN a while ago. ____________________ TheShaggyDA: I've got 3 or 4 pairs that predate my wife, so at least 11.5 years old. |

Had somebody steal the mirrors off my KR150 and try to drain the fuel tank. Stupid f***ers disconnected the wrong hose though and didn't get any fuel (they tried draining the petrol from the hose that runs from the air filter to the carburettor ). ____________________ Dangerous traffic offences spotted on 50-minute trip: Lost count after 100.
