hi i am thinking about getting a bike when i am 17 because of the money i will save compared to a car, i like the sound of a mito 125 but my friends have said it isnt very reliable, i have a bit of mechanical skill, would it be worth getting 1, and what would the average price of insurance be.

thanks a lot

Insurance will range from about £400 to a grand. They are reliable enough if they are properly taken care of. If neglected, you'll find yourself with the occasional rebuild. Mito's are quite expensive to buy compared to something like the RS125. Seem to hold their value quite a bit better as they're that bit rarer than the aprilia. When you add all the costs up, actually buying the bike, paying the insurance, running it on the best (expensive) oil and the poor fuel economy, I cant see them being much cheaper than a small car. On the other hand, it'll be more fun! Razz

Put it this way, if you don't have much mechanical skill, you will have by the time you've owned one
