Hi all

i just installed myself a nice cranezi racing crankshaft and 80cc malossi kit, and when i had nocked the crank in i had damaged the threads for the flywheel nut, regardless of this i stupidly started the bike and sure enough it started rattling and the bike cut out.. after inspecting it there was a bit of damage.

we fixed the threads by champhering them and making the end rounded but then when i put it all back together, within only a few miles of riding the ignition was way out and the bike would bearly run, it then got so bad that sparks came out the exhaust, along with big puffs of smoke and some flames.

then it got so bad that the bike would only run if you bump start it backwards, okay i though my ignition is way out took the flywheel off and the woodruff key fell on the floor, but only the top part, the other bit is still in the crank, so basicly i have managed to shear it off , woops! ... i think now what i need to do is to get a new key, but what about the old part thats still stuck in.

is there any easy way to remove this without taking the engine or crank out, was hoping to be at the bikers festival tonight on my malossi tuned beast showing everyone the two stroke force LOL but that aint gonna happen unless i can bodge this up within the next hour or so!

Any suggestions guys and girls?

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Ok, iv stopped laughing now...

To get the old bit of the key out of the shaft wont take much force. If you can get something behind it you should be able to knock it out. If you can find some hard steel from somewhere it it pretty easy to make a new key, they arnt exactly difficult to make. Just make sure that it is as close as possible to the original dimensions.

And remember to tell the nice insurance people about your extra power wont you....

Woodruff keys are standard sizes & they cost pennies, trying to make your own is almost as laughable as what happened to his bike... At this stage of the game I think a new woodruff key is the LEAST of his problems... Laughing
