The BCF'ers are officially and cordially invited to Langtoun MCC's Summer bash August 5/6 2005. Details are sketchy as to the location, it will be in Kirkcaldy, Fife and the dates may change slightly, but I wanted to let people know about it in advance. Any changes will be made in the calendar and a post in Outings & Excursions. Hope some of you can make it.

WHY ARE WE DOIN’ THIS?

Langtoun Motorcycle Club have a long standing association with Korsoranerne MC and Hagar MC of Denmark. Over the past ten years club members have been traveling to Scandinavia and we thought it was time to bring them over here. Some of the Danish lads have been to Scotland on a few occasions but this is the first visit in numbers… kind of like a Viking invasion. Apart from the mini tour of Scotland we will be celebrating Langtoun Motorcycle Club's 10th anniversary. We hope to show the Danish lads and lassies as good a time as they give us in their homeland…. So come and join us and let them see that “Scotland Rocks”


VIKING BIKING TOUR 2005 VIKING BIKING TOUR 2005

The Viking Biking mini tour of Scotland kicks off on Monday the 1st of August 2005 when we meet up with our Danish guests at the South side of the Forth Road Bridge. From there we travel to Dunolly House in Aberfeldy where we base ourselves for 4 nights. Dunolly offers hostel type rooms of various size with full meals provided during our stay. (Individual nights can be booked at £25 including meals) Our party have exclusive use of the lounge which we will probably turn this into a bar for the duration. We will tour pre-determined routes on each day of our stay returning to Aberfeldy each evening for dinner. Places for this event are very limited due to the accommodation size. However it may be possible to allow “tour only“ bikers to attend. There is a camp site and various B&B’s / hotels in Aberfeldy should you wish to use them. The weekend will be in Kirkcaldy where we have a barbecue on Friday the 5th Aug followed by our main party on the 6th at Kirkcaldy Rugby Club. Tickets are readily available for both these events


Details:

Day 1 - Monday 1st August 2005
Meet our Danish Guests at The Forth Road Bridge
and head for Aberfeldy. We may take a scenic route
if time is with us.

Day 2– Tuesday 2nd August 2005
Breakfast from 08:00.
10:00 - Depart on the first tour taking in Inveraray
Jail and the Famous Grouse experience in Crieff.
Packed lunch provided.

Day 3 - Wednesday 3rd August 2005
Breakfast from 08:00.
10:00 - Depart on the second tour taking in Fort
William Packed lunch provided.

Day 4 - Thursday 4th August 2005
Breakfast from 08:00.
10:00 - Depart on the third tour taking in Loch Ness
and Inverness. Packed lunch provided.

Day 5 - Friday 5th August 2005
Breakfast from 08:00.
10:00 - Depart on the fourth tour taking in Stirling
and the Wallace Monument. Packed lunch provided,
Evening barbecue at Kirkcaldy Rugby Club.
Camping at Dunnikier Campsite. (£8 per 2 man
Tent) Overnight security for bikes at Rugby Club

Day 6 - Saturday 6th August 2005
Free time in the morning, Party at Kirkcaldy Rugby
Club in the evening. Camping at Dunnikier
Campsite. (£8 per 2 man Tent) Overnight security
for bikes at Rugby Club

Day 7 - Sunday 7th August 2005
Free time in the morning, Beach run to St Andrews
in the afternoon. Camping at Dunnikier Campsite.
(£8 per 2 man Tent)

Day 8 - Monday 8th August 2005
Danish depart from Kirkcaldy and head for
Newcastle - ferry home

Note:- Tour only bikers must pre-book the days they wish to attend.
