Hey, after deciding to take a last 6 hours out of my weekend to have a crack at the GS i have managed to sort out quite a lot of its bugs (Fingers crossed). If it manages to hold up without any more major problems im planning a little trip away for the weekend after the BMF. Just a little weekend camping trip somewhere not too far away, so i dont have to carry that much luggage, as i am planning on taking a pillion.
With a 2/3 man tent on the back and a set of throw-overs / a rack and back box, i should have enough space for what luggage i need, and also space for a pillion.
Now this will be her first time on the bike doing anything over 20miles around 'Boro streets. I was thinking of a place i have been too before in Matlock, Derbyshire. From 'Boro it totals around the 80mile mark, now she seems happy enough doing the 20 odd mile street run and says she is comfortable etc... now do i go for the Matlock site and take a regular stops and hope that she doesnt tell me 50miles down the road she has back ache and wants to go home, or should i play it safe and try and find somewhere closer to home that i dont realy know? What would you do? ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... Gilera GSM 50 ... Honda NSR 125 Aug '04 ...

I would do around half the journey then stop somewhere nice for a slap-up lunch. Take your time over it then carry on to the site. If she is whinging by the time you stop for lunch, tell her you are over halfway now and it will be quicker to go to the site than to go home. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
