Difference between ES and ECM on NGK spark plugs

Hey folks it looks like my bike is meant to have a BR9ECM spark plug in it, yet i've been running it with a BR9ES spark plug for several months.

Any idea what the difference is between ES and ECM?

Also is it doing my bike any harm to be using the other?

I don't know the difference between them two specific models, but here are a few things that might be different

-The shank thread might be a different size
-The elctrodes might have different power
-What size the arm is

Not sure for definate, Keith may be able to elaborate a bit on that!

looks like its a slightly different type/shape of 2 ground electrode. But being the same heat rating, youll not likely notice much difference and it wont harm anything i dont think
