Well, with my current insurance expiring on Friday, I needed to organize some more for the next year.

I had a renewal of £577.49 through from my current insurer (MCE) but felt I could do better than that! Here's my situation (as of Friday)

Age: 18
NCB: 1 Year + No Claims & Convictions etc
Bike: Kawasaki GPZ500S, 1996
Cover: TPFT
Postcode: Good (I think)
Security: None, Bike Garaged
Usage: S, D & P inc. Commuting
Passed Test in October 2004
Not a member of any biking organizations

My best price was £340 with a £300 excess from Elite.

First company I phoned (Motorcycle Direct) beat every other company bar Elite with a quote of £377 and an excess of £400. Carole Nash also came close with £404.48 with excess of £400.

Motorcycle Direct also tried very hard to beat Elite's quote, and managed to lop theirs down to £342, but with a £400 excess still.

Both policies included Legal and Breakdown Cover.

Award for longest hold time: MCE (1 Hour)
Award for highest quote: Hastings (£861)

And that's that sorted for another year. Should get documents tmw.

Craig

The insurance on both my car and bike are up for renewal in August.

I noticed on my Carol Nash calender last month that they do combined insurance for both your car and your bike! Thumbs Up

Going to give them a try once I've been round the houses for a benchmark. Very Happy

That'd be interesting.

Maybe they'd take bike NCB into account when looking at cars (or vice versa).

Could be handy for when I get a car Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
