Was anyones bike stolen today (northwest)?

I saw 2 bikes in the back of a white van, with the doors swinging open, driving on the A556 between knutsford and Northwich at about 21:30. It looked quite suspicious. It was raining very very hard, and I was struggling to stay on my bike and visibility was very poor, but I managed to see a bit of the name of the van rental company and the first two letters of the registration plate of the van. I dont want to go to the police, as they are biggest waste of time there is. If someone feels it might be their stolen bike, I would be glad to pass what little information i have to them. Maybe they could hire a private detective or something to trace the van and who might have hired it. My apologies for not following the van to its destination. The weather was so bad that I counted myself lucky to get home in one piece. If it was just some innocent bloke taking his bikes home, I apologise.
