HI, RIGHT I WILL TELL YOU MORE OR LESS EVERYTHING I KNOW,
I HAVE A CAGIVA MITO 91'MODEL LUKYX.
I BROUGHT THIS BIKE STOLEN recovered ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO.WHEN I BROUGHT IT I NOTICED THE POWER valve's WHERE DISCONNECTED WITH NO PULLEYS.ANYWAY I PUT BITS AND BOBS ON LIKE INDICATOR HANDLE BAR NEW SPARK PLUG NEW BATTERY ETC.
NOW HERE IS WHERE THE FUN STARTS.IT TICKS OVER OK AND GOES OK FOR THE WHOLE 5 MINS THEN IT CUTS OUT I TOOK THE CARB OF CLEANED IT OUT I TOOK THE JET AND THE FLOAT OFF AND PUT IT BACK ON.BUT STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.NOW MY DADS MATE COME ROUND TO HAVE A LOOK TONIGHT AND SAID THE CHOKE HAD BEEN DISCONNECTED AT THE HANDLEBAR BUT STILL LEFT FULLY ON DOWN AT THE CARB.WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A REASONABLE explanation.SO WE CONNECTED IT UP PUT IT BACK TOGETHER.ALL THAT DID WAS EXTEND THE RUNNING TIME TO SAY 7 MINS BEFORE CUTTING OUT.THE SOUND WHEN IT CUTS OUT IS LIKE A STARVATION OF PETROL OR SOMETHING.BUT I DO NOT KNOW.SO PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE IT GETS A PACK OF C4 ON THE SIDE OF THE TANK.THANKS

Sounds like a coil problem - try swapping it for another or, if you've got a multimeter, check primary and secondary resistances

A coil problem is the last thing it sounds like IMO!

Sounds like a fuel tap problem, possibly gummed up with crap, and all you're doing is using up the petrol in the float bowls until it can't quite keep up with the rate you're using it.
