Hi all,
Okay, i'm new to all this biking business, to fill you in with some details. I passed my Direct Access in Jan, then went out and bought a CBR 600F (Yellow) Nice bike. 3 Months later I decided to drop it...ouch...4.2k's worth of damage, bike written off. It was only a 30 MPH spill too!
ANYWAY...insurance paid out, and had the opportunity to buy a CBR 600RR (04 model) so I did. Now then, either this is far too powerful, or my mind if bollox'd, but I am scared of the bike. Going around corners, I get this vision or blockage about falling off.
So, I brake up to the corner, select the correct gear, keeping the power on nicely, as soon as I see the exit I start to accelerate out.
Why does this feel so alien?
HELP!
Doobs. |

All new bikes feel "alien" when you first ride them. But you get used to them very quickly, although with only a few months experience you probably have the "New to the road" alien-ness aswell as the "New Bike" alien-ness? Just take it easy, get used to the bike and the road and youll be sliding that knee in no time! ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... Gilera GSM 50 ... Honda NSR 125 Aug '04 ...

Don't worry, it's natural. I passed DAS in Feb, and bought a Bandit.
Felt very scary just sitting on it at first.
After a couple of months I'm now getting my toe scrapping on just about every roundabout. Soon be my knee's ____________________ When riding fast, think fast. When riding slow.. speed up.

Corners still feel alien to me after 3 years riding!
Mind you these days going over 30mph feels alien too. ____________________ About me|@Major_Grooves|My company|Digg|Flickr |

CBR600RR's do feel funny in the corners though when you are used to something different, like your old CBR.
Doesn't it feel as if the CBR-RR wants to keep tipping in. When I used one on track, I found that if I so much as thought about cornering, it was trying to get right over on it's fairing, they are so sharp it's unreal!
Just hang in there and keep riding, it will all come together. I got used to the way it corners after about 3 laps of Donington andI had only been riding bikes for around 6 months at the time!
It's a great bike, learn to love it, otherwise it Will educate you! ____________________ TL1000R Parts For Sale! |
