Hi,right i will tell you more or less everything i know,
i have brought a cagiva mito 91'model luckyx.
i brought this bike about three weeks ago stolen recovered.when i brought it i noticed that the power valve was disconnected with no pulleys.anyway i put new bits on it like handle bar indicator new spark plug new battery ect.now here is where the funs starts!it ticks over ok and goes ok for the whole 5 mins then it cuts out.i took the carb off cleaned it out i took the jet and the float off and put it back on,not sure if the the was set right though?but still had the same problem.now my dads mate came round to have a look tonight and said it was disconnected up at the handle bar but still fully on down at the carb.wich i thought was a reasonable explanation because it will flood itself out if you know what i mean.so we put it back together and all that did was extend the running time to say 7 mins before cutting out.its starts back up again after leaving it again for about 1 min.so please could you help me.

Which I thought was a reasonable explanation. So we connected it up put it back together. All that did was extend the running time to say 7 mins before cutting out. The sound when it cuts out is like a starvation of petrol or something. But I do not know. So please please help me before it gets a pack of c4 on the side of the tank. Thanks

How long after cutting out will it start again? 1 minute? 5 minutes? straight away off the button?

You really need a manual and to make 100% sure the carbs are set right, especially float needle height.. (all the correct setings will be in any manual) give them a good clean out with carb cleaner.. also check the condition of any connecting pipes..

Heared this problem before pretty sure it will be carbs/fueling at least... sure somebody will enlighten you soon tho Smile

Incidentaly your best posting problems in workshop + not posting in caps cause it wil upset people Very Happy

Right,

For "fuel not reaching carbs" (which is what it sounds like)

Tank breather pipe cloged
Automatic cock locked (??)
Vaccum pipeing clogged (thin tube runing from the cylinder to the fuel tap probably)
Carb fuel fliter dirty
Float valve faulty
Rocker blocking float

"Carb flooding" (exhaust will smell particuarly petroly)

High fuel level in float bowls
Flat valve worn or stuck open

At least its place to start looking...

Good luck Thumbs Up

Oh no not another 1.

Yes. My sentiments exactly. I have always had a phobia of the arabic numeral 1.

Singular.

Alone.

It has a certain quiet dignity and simplicity that belies its inner strength. 1 *shiver*.

Yes I completely agree. Oh no not another 1.

Just to be a thread hijacker... my goose is doing some damn crazy shite when it is running. It like lurches along the road, all the way to top gear. So it cant be the chain, but it feels like an uber tightspot. A little bit of choke makes it die down a tad.

Any suggestions?
