I'm sure some of you would remember L££_01 - a close friend of mine who I encouraged to join BCF. Mentioning the name brings to mind, photos of Lee wearing his suit and tie, and a helmet, posing on his RS50.

Earlier, I got a phone call from a friend, giving me some news. Lee, one of my closest friends was on his way back from working at ventura in Wath-Upon-Dearne. Current speculation is that he pulled out to overtake a van, and another van hit him head on - he was killed instantly.

Lee had just passed his bike test. He was a quick witted, smart and principled kid, who loved life and loved his friends. His pride and joy was his Aprilia RS250 - he'd bought it less than two weeks ago and he was in love with the bike. As a just-turned seventeen year old, he was full of life, and very confident in himself. He liked the person he was and others loved him just the same.

It brings me great sadness to report his death, and he will be soreley missed, not least of which by Steve and myself, as we were practically a trio. I've been to see his family and they are understandably devastated. My prayers go out both to lee, and his family, and it is my hope that we give him the best sendoff possible.

I don't know if any of you knew Lee, but I thought I should mention it at least, as the passing of such a fantastic and well liked kid shouldn't go ignored.

To lee - Rest in peace fella Crying or Very sad

Lost one mate to bike so far, found out after the funeral happened! He only lived down the road and I knew nothing about it. He died doing what your mate did, over took and a van took him out, the road he was riding on was the road we used for quick ride outs.

Saddens me to hear about things like this, I know exactly what you're going though and what is to come.

Sincere sympathy to all affected.

My condolences to his family and friends.

How ironic given that he had posted this:

Really sorry to hear about this, my condolences to all affected. Confused

I know most of us will be going out for rides in this great weather over the next couple of days, but it just serves as a reminder to take care and just relax and enjoy it. We really don't need any more of these threads. Sad
