Coming home from work tonight, some bastard in a white 4x4 pulled straight across two lanes just in front of me and caused me to brake sharply.

Bike did a stoppie and then myself and bike did a triple somersault (according to witnesses) and landed (both of us) in the outside lane of the MI/A406 (Nth Circ Road). Bastard didn't stop.

Bike recovered to home, me recovered to Barnet Chase hospital. I been blood tested, ECG'd, x-rayed, blood pressured etc, and apparently, despite all appearences to the contrary, I am not a vampire.

I also do not have a dislocated shoulder, despite the look of my shoulder. Apparently my clavicle has separated (not broken as such) from my Chromium (sp?) and I have to go to the fracture clinic tomorrow morning for further seeings to. I am, however, in quite a lot of pain.

The bike faired much worse, as far as I could see. Certainly saw broken clutch lever, footpeg and gearstick. Windscreen is completely screwed. The police reckon I went through it, which is quite an achievement on a bike. Back seat is ripped and tail end fairing bit is broken. I didn't get to examine the side fairings at all.

Bike gear is completely unusable again, but it did the job as did the helmet.

Currently quite stoned, thus able to type, but will no doubt pay for this in the morning.

Goodnight. Crying or Very sad

Bollocks. Sad

Hope the shoulder gets better soon - I'm sure copious amounts of cannabis will help.

You will ache badly tomorrow so keep puffing Thumbs Up

Got to say when I came off the first person I rang was my mate round the corner who turned up with a nice fat spliff. Got some funny looks from the recovery people Smile

Don't suppose any witnesses got the number plate of the tosser in the 4x4?

Bastard Mad Sorry to hear that, lass.
Hope the fracture clinic is at least vaguely helpful, and make sure you give it time to heal cleanly.
*exceedingly gentle sort of hug kind of thing*

Bummer. Consider though, at least the bike didn't land on top of you.

Also consider the piss taking if you had broken something girly like your wrist. A detached collar bone is something you can brag about down the pub/round a campfire.

Ten points if you have managed to scuff both sides of the bike and the top of the tailpiece. Laughing

Damn that's nasty Sadie.

Unlucky, shame no one else managed to stop the tosser in the 4x4.

Take it really easy and give everything plenty of time to heal.
Hope the bikes not too messed up, but you can always repair that. At least you didn't come away any worse.

Karma Thumbs Up

I bet your arm is killing you at the moment too. Sounds just like the injury Redd got about a month back when he came off. Sad

Really sorry to hear of your off.

Glad you're in one piece though. I know it sounds crap - but it could have been a lot worse.

Bikes are far easier to fix than people. Chin up! Thumbs Up

Sadie Gets 5.3 from the Russian Judge, losing marks for her less than composed landing and the fact that she ended up in A & E as opposed to on the medal rostrum Sad

Lets hope that at least one of the witnesses who were sufficiently impressed with your acrobatics showed enough concern to get the reg number of the idiot that caused them.

Hope you (and the bike) recover soon Sadie.
