Is anybody going down to watch the opening ceremony, and look at the supercars this year?

I know I am, My father and I will be there on an 03 R1, and an uber loud CBR400rr NC29. Twisted Evil

Jon B may be coming along too. There will be numerous exotic cars, one of the confirmed is a 05 Merc SLR, and large amounts of ferraris, Lambo's and Porsches.

The flag will drop at 6pm, and I may be tempted to give chase for a couple of hours Very Happy .

as I said the start place is trafalger square, and there should be a small parade heading there around mid day. They raqcers/ralliers will be arriving at the Hilton Trafalger the night before for a party. And as some of the guys are fairly nuts, I am sure you could race them on litre sportsbikes just for the comparison, and they would give it there all.

Well, thats only 10 minutes of travel for me on the bike, so i may attend depending on my exams. If i do then im the Rossi rep NSR.

But where will you park the bike? It will probably be well packed out. Smile

If there are quite a few of us perhaps we can meet somewhere before London and go in together. Cool

Parking, trafalgar square???? You must be having a laugh - if you want to park- the STRAND - i.e. in front of bush house/temple has got fook loads of bike parking spaces there and it's never at 100% capacity during work days anyway. I might be up for it as i'm pretty much local. I know there's a few bike parks near Picadilly ends or near the National Art/Portrait galleries but that's too near to the action.

I'll probably tag along with my uber practical city tool (XR! Thumbs Up ) Jon- you'll pass your test by then won't you? I can possibly meet up along the M25 somewhere?

I will probably dissapear off with me dad, and look at all of the cars and take pictures of every type of supercar that there is there!

Lol - you'd be surprised as to how many stands are occupied even on a weekend. Try parking your bike within a 500m radius from trafalgar square -always been a problem for me whenever i pop down to leicester square/china town/covent garden or Denmark Street after a razz and shop in Camden on a saturday afternoon.

Ahhh well then Titz you should have a look at the central london motorcycle parking map i posted in the South East forum.

Saturday is just as crowded if not more crowded in Central London than a normal working day, its nearing tourist season and then you get all the damn shoppers.

That is the email where I got all of the information from. www.gumball3000.com has now got a starting grid up, which includes 2 carrera GT's, 2 SLR's, 2Enzos, 2 GT40's and tons of others. It is in the flash bit, when you click on the rev counter. I cant do this as 56k takes too long on the flash site!

Benn, and returned. In short I fucking loved it.

Beautiful cars everywhere! 2CV's to Pagani's were on the rally!

Saw: 1 X Pagani Zonda
1 X Porsche CarreraGT
1 X Ferrari Enzo
2 X Mercedes SLR
1 X Ferrari F40
1 X Ultima GTR

Also saw Jodie Kidd, Caprice and Darryl Hannah. The rally was awesome, loads of expensive cars entered the rally, and loads more turned up to pose. I really enjoyed it and if I wasnt on 56k dial up I would post some piccies!
