in 4 accidents, i never broke a bone. but i'm just being pedantitic Razz

looks interesting, although no air circulation cou,ld be uncomfortable on a bike.

if they aren't breathable it could get quite damp and sticky in there,,,

doesn't do anything the plastic bag and some elastic bands did when I was in a cast..

for the few minutes I was in the shower a placky bag was fine.. anything longer/more strenuous, I'd rather have something breathable so you don't end up as wet from sweat as you would without it.

me too Sad I used to always see people with casts up to their elbow. But when I broke my arm (Doing backflips off swings in the park) Mine ended up being up to my shoulder Laughing

Still have the scars where the bone came out Neutral

unfortunately the only thing waterproof and breatheable at the same time is gortex (and i think portex the cheapy version but it's not as breathable). But that don't come cheap..

I guess it depends how badly its broken. In your forearm there 2 main bones which connect to your hand. From my x-ray they were both snapped (one came through the skin), Which ment me having to have a cast. Sometimes if its a minor faction they will do what you said. But I guess it would have to be really minor.

If you are going to break a bone you WANT a break that requires a cast, this means it is a relativley simple one and is likley to heal without any long term problems. You can't use a cast on a fracture if it is not possible to immobalise the joints above and below the break, anything else requires metalwork

You wanna try three pins AND a cast over the top of them? Itchy! Evil or Very Mad

there are other similar things, but you're right... Gore-tex is the defacto standard microporous membrane (PTFE is your friend)

Yes! I broke my left collar bone in an accident a few years ago.
