Well, today I picked up some of the replacement parts I ordered last week to repair some of the damage from my 30mph spill a while back.
It didn't start off well when I pulled the section of fairing I'd ordered out of the bag and discovered that it was a nice shade of purple - my bike is black and silver!
Still, that aside, after 2 hours of fiddling, swearing and grumbling, my Fazer's now got new and un-bent handlebars, while the rear brake pedal has been restored to full working order. (A bush and a couple of dampers were missing that allowed it to function, but with an annoying wobble and some play in the movement)
Nothing major, and something some of you guys could probably have sorted in half an hour, but it's cheered me up, and given me a bit more confidence pulling the beastie apart. Going to take it for a little test spin later, and then maybe for a ride out to the coast tomorrow if I've nothing else to do! ____________________ >Soultrader Mister James, I bet you are a copper

It'll feel really wierd if you have been riding it with bent handlebars, you just get used to them. I rode my Jawa for years with bent bars, when I got a new bike it felt decidedly odd. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

As long as you take your time and allways check anything your unsure of then most stuff is totaly doable..
Good work though (feel smug and impressed at how much money it didn't cost you! ) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Definitely true! Just taken it out for a brief spin this evening, bars feel very weird, and I've just had to tweak all of the levers and the pedal, as although they looked ok, none were actually in the right positions!
Still, all in all, very satisfying! ____________________ >Soultrader Mister James, I bet you are a copper
