I have been having a read with regards to attempted motorbike theft and been thinking about cheap ways to let you know if an attempt is being made. My bike gets stored out the front of my house under a bike cover with the usual chain for protection, but nothing much else apart from the security lighting outside the house.

What I really want is an alarm of sorts, but don't want to pay alot and having to mess with the wiring to install it.

I have found a couple I will buy tonight and let you know how they are.

This one is basically a rape alarm, nice and easy

This one is meant to be for a window, its set off when the bike is knocked. Not too sure of the sensitivity, but will find out. Planning on sticking it maybe under the seat.

Might get this also, not sure yet

I bought the first two items above! To be honest not loud enough. The window alarm is very good, just enough sensitivity for it to be set off. Its only 95db so I will be looking for summin similar, but just louder! Very Happy

KJ92A .. that's the code for the one i will probably get, 130db i think it says, should be loud enough.. just going to enclose it in a metal case attached to behind the numberplate and the cord sewed ontot the bike cover.. hopefully that'll scare 'em off.

A rape alarm is activated by pulling out a rip cord, when pulled out of main unit it sets off the alarm. To de-activate just replace the cord. The thing is its really loud, hence the use of a make shift bike alarm.
