Here is an unbelievable story which I found out about to day.

Well I got this uncle which I barely ever see or talk to due to my family not getting on with his wife (long long story). The sun was out so I thought I would go show off my NSR125 to him and make sure everyone was still alright as I have not heard from them in nearly a year.

Well to cut a long story short his wife was at her families which meant we could have a good long chat about bikes.

I showed him my bike and he said “I got one of them” I was like 0.0 “really?” he took me round back into the back garden and uncovered a 90’ NSR.

I bet your thinking “why the hell is this guy telling us this s*#t” I’m just coming to the point now.

It turned out he brought his NSR from new back in 1990 for £1700. The shocking part of this story is that he has done 57,500 miles on a 2-Stroke! Without it going wrong once!!!!!

He explained that he used travel to work from Brighton to London nearly everyday for 6 years and did not brake down once. All the engine parts are still the original and he said he never really looked after it just rode it.

He also never spent more then £150 to MOT it! He said he could not get much more then 75mph out of it but would start 1st time every time.

He stopped using the bike in 1996 due to his WIFE and has just kept it MOT’ed just in case his car brakes down.

Iv had 3 2 stroke bikes and all of them back broken down on me in some point of their life with me. Just shows that a 2-stroke can be reliable even after over 57,000 miles.

Well done Honda Smile

Hi

Take it that it is an NS, as an NSR was abotu £3000 back then.

All the best

It is probably because he hasn't hacked about at the exhaust, carbs and wiring like everyone on here has. Wink

If a two stroke is properly maintained and wamred up properly etc, no reason there should be problems.

About the same with a 4 stroke, really Smile.
