Hi,
Finally inspired to ask about this due to a thread on reserve here. Been riding my TZR since September, all fine. Except for one small niggle. I have no idea which way on the fuel tap is reserve or on. Guy I got it off said up was on. A manual for a 1991 TZR says down is on. Either way I can get to 100 miles and then I panic and fill up again Very Happy So, anyone know which it is?
Cheers Thumbs Up

Hi

Generally seems to be down for on and up for reserve on Yamahas.

Always seem illogical to me.

All the best

Keith

Yep thats correct , but you might just want to put it on reserve while on your driveway or something just to check that it is not blocked if you havent used it in a while.

When I had my TDR, which I guess uses a similar tap, down was on and up was reserve. Are there any markings at all on the tap?

Aren't all taps pointing down for on and up for reserve? Confused The arrow on the lever points towards the pivot, and points towards which pick up it uses. That's the way I understood it anyway.

On my TZR 250, down is on, reserve is up, prime is towards the bike (tap's on the left side of the bike).
