Insurance group that is, I was reading Bike magazine and it's 2 groups higher, yet the SV has a higher top speed by a few mph, and an engine more than a third bigger..

More expensive parts. It's a sports bike. More desirable.

More people crash on them probably. Loads of things...

Its all about the demographic.

VFR400s are ridden by 17 year old kids. Into solid objects, at speed.

SV650s are ridden by a broad spectrum, of which a large numbers of the users are ladies, recent DAS passers, and commuters.

Which one do you think generates more money claimed per person.

I guess that one of them being an import has got something to do with it too. Price, availability, costs, crashing etc are also variables. As Robby correctly said, it's also to do about the demographic cross section of riders on 400 sports - i.e. 17-21 yo's.

To do with age. I asked when i got insured on my GSXR400 at 17. My ZX6R is higher insurance than some litre bikes which is a joke. I think its the most expensive to insure out of all the 600's. Fucking joke, basically i pay £1,300 TPO to pose on a bike which will probably be done by a full power RS125.

Worth it though. Cool

The NC is group 12 (right?) and the SV is 10? All due to how much parts are, how easy they are to get and how much they're going to cost. An SV sliding down the road will damage the top panel, an NC sliding down the road will mash £450 of fairings PER SIDE!!!!

and the brake pedal will probably bend, it is something to do with the demographic because my insurance quotes dropped 65% without me asking from my company after the 1st year when they realised it wasnt a nuters bike, that said it has loads of grunt where you want it.
