After months and months of trying I FINALLY GOT A JOB WORKING WITH BIKES!!!

Just got taken on by yamaha (about 5 mins ago) Dance!

Taking me on as a trainee motocycle technician, gunna train me up and i become a member of the yamaha techinicians guild or summin Laughing

life is good

ohhh im so happy i could actually cry Laughing

I'm taking voluntary redundancy with my current job and finish 31st May yet yesterday I get phoned up from the company i'm doing my computer training with saying they are putting me forward for a new job.

got thrown in the deep end today Laughing had 6 dt125s delivered that needed putting together (inc 2 super moto ones) and had to service a 900 diversion and an r1......which was nice Laughing

congrats fella!

I remember the evening I got my placement too (apprentice role with mercs. cars i know, but after months of being blown out by the bike industry because I didnt have the GCSE's, I settled for second best) such a wicked feeling though isn't it!

I know it's not the first manufacturer that springs to mind...but have you applied to triumph? I was at the factory a few weeks back talking to a fella who said they don't really recieve many apps for techs...and it's pretty close to you too.

I too waited and waited for Honda...and Kawasaki...and Suzuki...and none of them have ever got back to me, even after several letters. That was just under 3 years ago.

Well done buddy! I work for Honda and do block training at the Honda institute at Heathrow. My apprenticeship lasts for 3 years but continues on and on with technical training. As soon as I pass my DAS I can move on to testing the new blades, YAY! Very Happy

go to www.remit.co.uk and they should be able to help you out. Sign up under the young peoples section. These are the guys i found to help Craig Thumbs Up

You have to do some online tests, and once the they're complete you should get a letter through the post shortly saying what course you're most suited for and when they'll send you to a local assessment evening Smile
