Imagine riding your bike over 10 miles of a pebble path everyday, doesn't seem very nice does it. This is exactly what my Italjet Dragster is like and I have no idea why.

It has only just started about a week ago. When I say driving over a pebble path I don't mean the whole bike shaking as the wheels etc are fine, it's just the handlebars. They just constantly shake from side to side like mad every time I go out on the bike.

It's really starting to annoy me now as it takes 100% fun out of driving it. I just dread going to college on it everyday as I can't stand riding it anymore. I used to love riding it as for a 50cc it's pretty nippy (50mph restricted) and was a really smooth ride.

I'd appreciate it if anybody could tell me what could possibly be wrong with it as I took it to a bike repair place and they said they couldn't find out what was wrong with it.

Thanks, HassanK!

Have a look at the hub centre steering, make sure it all looks nice and tight!

Can you tell whether it's coming from the back or the front?

It's definetely from the front... Also, what is the hub centre steering?

Another point is, my little sister sat on my bike the a couple weeks ago and broke the steering lock (fuck knows how) and now I am able to move the handlebars even whilst the steering lock is on.

It is hard to explain but I don't think the handlebars are tight. The only time they are is when the wheel is turned one way as far as it can go, whilst the handlebars are held still. Below are a couple pictures of what I mean.

In pic 1 it feels REALLY tight like it should be but the problem is, the handlebar doesn't line up with the wheel.

In pic 2 the handlebar DOES line up with the wheel but feels loose and so this is the only way I can ride it.

I don't think scooters were designed to be taken over miles and miles of gravel and pebbles. If your going to do that, better off buying a crosser.

Maybe the wheel and bars need realignment???

No idea.

I don't think you understand mate, I don't actually ride over pebbles every day... That's just what it feels like.

Well I actually want to buy a CBR/NSR/RS 125 (still deciding which) but I need to sell my scooter first.

That's why I desperately need to fix it.

So is this what everyone has basically suggested:

1) That I don't ride it until it's fixed?
2) Take it to another mechanic?

Is there anything I should tell the mechanic when I leave the bike with him as the last mechanic I took it to didn't know what was wrong with it. Maybe if he had an idea of what was wrong with it then he would know where to start.

Thanks.
