Well its been a while since my last road kill post, but today my brilliant luck/driving skill returned!

I was driving along in my car and I managed to splatter (and I mean splatter) A pigeon! It was my first ever wood pigeon, and if that skill wasn't great enough, I got it with the windscreen! (its much too easy to splat them with the bumper), So impact was at about 60mph I think and the pigeon burst into a shower of feathers behind me!

Wildlife has been throwing itself in front of my car all week (very nearly a deer a couple of days ago, and also I was about a meter away from splatting a mother duck and its 4 ducklings yesterday, sadly my conscience kicked in and I did an amazing emergency stop about 1 meter from taking the mother duck out).

So my list so far of road kills!

3 rabbits (1 on bike, 2 in car)
1 pheasant (in car and probably the biggist thing I have hit to date)
1 pigeon (woohoo, they keep me awake at night the basturds!)
2 cats (one splated in car, one other limped away when hit by moped)
1 bat (hit my helmet and bat blood smells bad)
20,000000 Flys

Very nearly killed
1 deer (that would have been interesting...
1 duck... wish I had floored it now
4 ducklings.... not sure if they would have got away?

So, what have you lot killed/murdered/maimed?

One of my favourite routes to ride now has a little s-bend called "Squirrel Corner".

I creamed him at about 95mph.

I didn't aim for him though.

Hmmm, squirells seem rare around here, I shall have to keep an eye open for one of them, I should imagine the bump is similar to that of a rabbit?

Keep up the good work (y)

I actually laughed out loud at that squirrel post.

Not hit anything in the car or on the bike yet.

Other than several million flies.

And one massive bumble bee, that bounced off my windscreen with a 'DONG' noise, and made me laugh into my lid.

Have only ever killed one thing, a bunny rabbit. There is was eating something in the middle of the road, looked in my mirror and there was a splatter of rabbit pate.

I think if I hit a deer or badger in the mini [I]I[/} would be road kill

I was driving along a single carriage, perfectly straight road, one oncoming car...and one absent minded pheasant wondering along the central white line...estimating my speed, and the speed of the car coming towards me put as 'at the pheasant' at about the same time....there were a couple of seconds as the pheasant looked up and around, the mental processes grinding away to come to the following conclusion - 'if I walk in a direction, none of these bright shiny objects will hit me and I'll be fine - I won't bother to fly as I've just eaten'....so it wonders to the left......my left....and ends up going under my car, in addition to going over my car with entirely different body parts...not a bad trick for a pheasant...

Total body count
1 stupid pheasant
1 cat (the day I passed my test)
74 rhesus monkeys in an act of 'safari park' rage from them nicking my frikkin windscreen wipers! (note to greenpeace - joke!!)

Alex.

I took a pigeon out with my head at about 60, I still have no idea how I stayed on the bike!

Stupid thing bled all inside my helmet so I had to go home and remove the feathers and blood before I continued to work Sick

We can only hope that your pigeon friend was the one that kissed my windscreen shortly before its head shot out its arse!

I'm not surprised you're touching your wood after not hitting anything yet, you must be gagging for it Cool

Well I've hit a rabbit on the way back from Old Trafford once, stayed on the bike somehow, don't ask me how though.

Also I splattered a Squirrel on the way to a ride out last year at about 80MPH, stupid thing just darted out in front of me and I had no where to go but run over it.

I knocked down a lady who was worse for wear (Drunk)!

She waited on the white lines in the middle of the road. So i presumed she was waiting for me to pass as you do!This was from a distance and in slow motion, you know how it feels!

Then HOLY SMOKE she jumped out! Well maybe she fell? Brakes screeching! Horn sounding! I clipped her leg as I stopped (not enough to hurt her may I add).

Because she was drunk she fell to the ground, broke her ankle etc! She then made her way to the kerb and rolled a FAG! Now she tried suing me for £15.000!!!! for loss of earnings, reckless driving! Oh please! Dont think she ever did a days work in her life!

Lesson learnt Thumbs Up NEVER PRESUME!

A small bird flew in to me whilest only doing around 40mph. It flew in from the left, bounced off my chest to the right. Shocked

Didn't hang around to see if was dead or not. Also there was no sign of blood on my jacket when I checked at the next set of lights!

Does that count Question

Hi

Found a small dead bird in the grill on my car once Confused . Not splattered, just the back end of it there, with the front wedged in place. Hit a small bird with the windscreen of a car once. Last week a small bird hit the little finger of my left hand while riding, but not a clue where it went.

Very nearly collected a deer a few years ago in the car. Barely missed it.

And back in 1989 riding a CB400N I ran a sheep over and killed it (went over its shoulder blades). More by luck than judgement I did not come off the bike.

All the best

Keith
