I got back from a night out on Sat morning to find my house stinking of fuel. Upon investigation of my Busa I found that the return hose from the fuel pump had softened with age & had split. Mines a 2000 model by the way. (Obviously you people with later pump in the tank models this doesn't apply to you)
I'm just glad it happened when I wasn't riding it, otherwise this could have been scary to say the least. I don't like the idea of my pods being set fire to!
I would suggest that the next time you have the tank up on your bike to do the filter you roll down the protective coil on the return hose & check that it hasn't gone soft, otherwise you could get the same problem that I had but you might not be so lucky as me.
I'm going to be in touch with Suzuki GB in the morning to see what they have to say about this & I'll let you know how I get on. ____________________ I am me & you are he & we are all together. See how they run like pigs from a gun! |

sounds like the same setup as the TL, whoever designed it obviously never considered maintenance since you practicaly need to remove the engine to adjust the preload and their solution to remove the tank is cover the hole with your finger till you can jam a bung over it
you may be out of luck with suzuki though since every bike ive owned says to replace the perishable stuff like hoses every 2 years, may want to have a word with the dealer who serviced it if you didnt do it yourself but most likely they will just shrug and act like a prick. |
