no you cant get points yet but i think there trying to introduce it! I got flashed by a camera about a mont ago in france (in a hire car, reno twingo ) and when i got back there was a letter with "priorite" (or however its spelt in french) through my door! Luckily it was only the bill for the hire car tho!! ____________________ 04 ZX10R ~ |

ok thanks- I think I'm safe, 45 euros isnt that bad, almost seems like they're doing me a favour compared to points! if I was just on holiday I'd leave it and go home, but I've got another 3 months here so I'll be paying up (they even have a nice easy online payment system, it would be rude not to )
I got the ticket just outside Nice, I think I was pretty unlucky, everyone speeds along that road (its completely straight with 3 lanes). But whatever, my fault I should of been looking better. (Ironic that camera's are meant to improve safety, while in reality it means you have to divert some of your attention away from the road and into the bushes...)

| Quote: | Do they have any sports 400's in France? |
I saw a yamaha fzr400 once, thats it obviously theres a shitload of scooters (they dont have to register 50cc bikes, so the plate-less scooter is the choice de jour of the drive-by purse snatcher) and the trendy way to get around Nice seems to be on a 50cc dirt bike. In terms of big bikes they seem to like middle rande nakeds, the bandit 600 is popular, the fazer even more so, theres loads of the new naked one about.
But more people bike here because its cheap and practical, its less of a hobby than it is in the uk, if you see what I mean... the most popular 2 wheel transport is a big ugly scooter, burgman etc
I'm back to the UK at the end of August, so I'll be looking to sell my GS and get hold of a bike in england as soon as I get back, thats why I'm looking into sports 400s now. ____________________ "he who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man"- Dr. Johnson |

Just to make you all aware.
While we were over in France earlier this month on the bikes. One of the other teams engineers and mechanic got pulled for speeding near to the circuit. They were doing about 60kph more than they should have been.
Fine was somewhere in the region of 300-500 Euros (can't remember exactly, will try and find out again) and the real kicker was that he had his UK license taken from him and was instantly banned from driving anymore in france for the period he was there.
His license was to be mailed back to him by the French police.
So, take care if you're riding over there. On the Sunday as we left the circuit on the bikes for the hotel there were police everywhere, pulling bikers especially. And they're not shy about giving you a big on the spot fine either from what we were told. ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP
