Arrived home at 9:30pm last night after 5 days away in Northern Ireland at the North-West 200 road races, well, apparently there was racing going on somewhere on the Saturday but as usual we couldn't fight our way out of the pubs . 5 times and only seen a race bike once
Saw some excellent super-moto racing on the Friday afternoon in Portrush, in the car-park right outside our B+B, now thats something I could really get into , although the injuries received could put you off, seen less blood and bones at the butchers .
Made new friends, met up with old ones I only ever see there, one special thanks to the Owner and Staff of the Waterson's Pub which used to be called the 'Central' and to me always will be, they are very friendly people and always make me feel like a local, cheers guys.
Night times in Portrush are superb, pubs packed to the max, loud music and 1,000's of bikers everywhere, 4 nights and never saw any hassle, to me its the ultimate of bike weekends, if you haven't tried it, you should, don't blame me if you don't have a good time, one word of warning though, watch the motorway on your way out of Belfast, its a total free for all, and cars seem to come of better in a shunt. |
