I need to get a new needle for my TZR 250, I have the broken needle, and it has a couple of numbers on it..

A funny square, then 5119.

Every bike shop I go into looks at me as if I'm stupid. Loads of people must have upjetted their bike, which would mean a new needle, so where did you get it from?

This is the last thing I need before I can go thrashing the TZR about.

Hi

Virtually nobody bothers to change the needle (can of worms time), and just move the clip to a different position to richen / lean the mixture the whole way through the range controlled by the needle.

Bets just go to Yamaha and order a new one. You could possibly get one from the Mikuni importer from the number you have.

All the best

Keith

have a look if a dynojet kit is availible for your bike
contains everything you need and you should get a small increase in performance

Shame, dynojet isn't an option.

I'm guessing the easiest thing to do is to buy some new carbs off ebay!

Hi

Suspect a new jet from Yamaha is only a couple of pounds.

All the best

With my local dealership being the useless humans they are it'd be a pain in the ass.

They wanted £15 a piece for fork seals I think.

£6.50 on ebay.

They also wanted £15 for each exhaust gasket, £30 for a FULL gasket set on ebay.

I've found a racer willing to help me out with a needle, so fingers crossed, I should be sorted.

Hi

Fowlers in Bristol seem to be good for mail ordering Yamaha parts.

All the best
