My NC24 was advertised on Ebay, and on here for sale or breaking for a low price of 300 quid. I had a few emails and one guy called martin emailed me and said that he would be happy to pay 300 for the bike. He couldnt possibly manage 400 "because he was on benefits."

Id given a full description of the bike and what was wrong with it so there would be no surprises come collection. The guy turns up and just decideds he cant afford it now and leaves.

You here about people coming back and stealing bikes, should i be worried?

Just get your 12 gauge and your rocking chair and guard it... Twisted Evil

It could be a dodgy character but also consider that he just thought that it was in better condition. Did you get his phone number or address because if so, he is less likely to try anything.... unless they are fake.

mmmm home protection Thumbs Up

Well thing is i gave him two descriptions of the bike, and he claimed he was on benefits so i immediatly thought, "how can he afford to buy a project bike?"

Then he turns up, he is in five minutes, and goes, he was incredibly quiet and i was with him the whole time?

Why make such a wasted journey?

short summary of the NC24

Most have been badly neglected and are cheap for a reason.

Heavy old grey imports

Unreliable bikes compared to other 400,s (better Honda V4,s are the NC30 or a RVF400 NC35)

Charging system deigned by a 5 year old, and are generally plagued with electrical problems like most old honda,s

One of the tightest most complicated engines to work on. (spark plugs/ valve clearances are very difficult)

Stupid chain adjuster clamp

Robby had quite a bad time with his as well as me, but are some owners who have got descent ones that haven’t given them trouble yet.

My NC24, had fairing damage from a crash into a field Sad

plus dented tank. All was explained but he was just a timewaster, extra chains have been used to secure bike in back garden.

In the bikes defence, really wasnt a bad bike to ride, and went more than fast enough for what i needed!
