Unfortunate to be involved in a accident .. While stopped behind a van on dual carriageway,Iwas hit from behind by the knock on effect of a car failing to stop four cars behind.
Damage minimal but im a little bruised ,i have an excess of 300 pound im told if i claim i will lose my no claims bonus surely this is not correct |

I think what they do is suspend it until it's decided whose fault it is. Clearly it isn't yours by the sound of it, but it is standard practice. |

PLUS if it was a knock on crash, i.e multiple cars in a line then the person who was hit first can claim off who hit him, but the guy who was in front of him claims off the guy who was hit first. This happens all along to the front up to the last person hit. It stinks but thats the way it is. I think by the letter of the law the others should have left a suitable gap to prevent hitting the car in front and had the handbrake applied. In one of them crashes, unless it was dangerous driving, everyones insurance bar the final bloke gets effed up.
When you make your cliam against the car that hit you make sure you don't forget to include your personal injury claim, its one of the reasons insurance is so high. If you are paying their inflated prices to cover it then you might aswell benefit from it!
Good to hear your not hurt though ____________________ RS125 > CBR6 > SV650S > ZX636R > GSX1300RZ Hayabusa > 06 RSVR Mille > SV1000S > Street Triple 765 RS |

Hi
It will go along the line with each person claiming off who went into the back of them, so the van you were pushed into will claim off you. Your insurance company should claim for that and the damage to your bike off the vehicle that went into you, etc.
You should not loose your no claim in the long term, but it might well be messy and take time to sort out.
All the best
