in the last week people getting banned have seemed to get rediculous, what is going on? well don't answer that as that will turn this post into more crap, if people have got issues take them up on Pm's not the general forum, as i can see it dragging the whole place down and not what it is suppose to be about which is bikes and not peoples problems with each other.

I propose "Im a BCF'er Get Me Outa Here!!"

Where a selection of BCF'ers are sent away to a remote part of the Highlands and only have 2 Gallon's of Unleaded between them to last them 4 weeks. Chalenges will be set by Korn (or Ste if you want something sick on it Rolling Eyes ) and who ever fails will get voted off by the users on the Forum each week Wink
And half way through a bunch of banned members will be put in on week 2 just to stir things up a bit Laughing

A good start would be taking an honest look at the very recent bannings and asking yourselves if they were really necessary.

Further to my post above and post reading the announcement at the top of the page I have this to say.

Fair enough. Your playground. Your Baw. Your Rules.

A suggestion then for the betterment of the forum, you could start the ball rolling by allowing Dr Nick, Whitetrash and Yoda back if they apologise and promise to mend their wicked ways. Not that an apologist culture is needed - an understanding one is.

on my "main" bike related internet community, we liken ourselves to "a group of bikers having a chat down the pub"... to that end, we talk about bikes, and other general nonsense...

I see BCF as no different to that concept, and just like in a pub.. if anyone continually noises up other customers/patrons/drinkers, they would get thrown out.

The only difference between here and my other group is that BCF has the facility to ban. This other group doesn't, as relies on an element of self policing. That being said, the other group has older people in it's majority (I think the youngest person subscribed, who regularly posts, is in their early 20's) I'm not sure if that makes a difference compared to BCF.

I chose to ignore, or not reply to those members of either community that I find annoying/offensive or just dissagree with to a point that I know it's not worth trying to put across my opinon.. but at the end of the day, we are all entitled to our opinions, so why castigate people for having them?

so in a nutshell.. treat this like any other biker's meeting place..

push it too far, and like in a pub/meet/whatever.. the bouncers will be showing you the door. Why is that so hard a concept to understand? do people miss the point because "this is the internet and anything goes"? since when did the "internet" mean everyone had a carte-blanche to be inconsiderate, insulting and ignore manners and common good humour?

that's my tuppence worth...

But ended up with more banned people and some people who've posted saying they feel even more isolated from the clique now for being northern etc.. Razz

Definitely not my intention or wish, if it was due to my thread.
However I don't think it would be purely because of that thread.

Hopefully those have come to realise that if they feel isolated, it's not a feeling intentionally created by others.

Old Thread Alert!
