Changing engine oil

Hi

I am going to change manufacturer of engine oil. I've heard that sometimes when you change engine oil manufacturer some chemical reactions can take place.

Is this true with fully synthetic ones or just the semi-synthetic ones? I am changing from Shell to Putoline.

I ride a Aprilia RS125 if tht makes a difference!

do you mean 2 stroke oil, or gearbox oil?

I think thats largely myth, especially in regards to the 2t oil.

I wouldnt loose any sleep over it.

I personally recommend Rock Oil, used PP2 semi synth in my MZ, which runs a very lean 2 stroke oil mix (50-1), and was happy with it.

Dont buy small bottles fer crissake-buy it by the gallon! Much much cheaper.

all the local shops by mine only sell the 1l bottles...

Where are you?

Im in Bristol. I bought mine from a bike shop called HRS, and Fowlers kept it in by the gallon. Also halfords sell it as well, and have their own brand they sell in gallons, if you live near a large halfords.
