Yes, I have succumed to the dark side and I now have an offroad bike Very Happy

Just traded in the GSXR600 with my local dealer. So I'm now the owner of a Honda XLR250 with 5,000kms on the clock. They had it up for £1,595, so they took my bike and gave me £500. Not bad considering I paid £2,000 for it Thumbs Up

Anyway, it rides pretty well on the road, although it's obviously down on grunt. Won't be able to give an offroad report until later this weekend.

And before people tell me road bikes are better, I still have the GSXR750 for road antics/trackdays Mr. Green

Not really, I got £500. Not so bad when you consider how thrashed the GSXR was (and it has a leak in the fuel tank).

As for the pics, I'm running a countdown until my first crash into a tree / hedge / wall / small mammal Laughing

Shocked Crying or Very sad would of liked the GsxR tbh, wouldnt of traded it for that, and i like off roading, ah well each to there own.

Off roading's a blast when your on a road bike for so long, borrowed a friends DT for a week, dropped it twice, used to do downhill biking, was great fun! Thumbs Up

I still have a GSXR (and one that's better in every way than the one I got rid of)! Why not have one road bike and one offroad bike instead of two GSXRs?

Just went for a blast down some trails; great fun Mr. Green . Nearly crashed twice but the cause wasn't a rabbit or a chav, but a couple of sodding great muddy trenches, filled with water. The bike's very stable, both times the front wheel went and I was able to push it through on the torque and straighten up.

Looks good.

I did have my own private MX track thourgh streams, hill climbs, and a few straights, untill locals complained of noise Evil or Very Mad
I do miss playing on the bike in the woods.. We had a CR250R Honda, veryyy fast.., a KTM 350 with a Honda CG engine in its place.. dont ask.. and a Yamaha TTR125, which I sold to buy the ZXR4, and it was getting to small for me.

Yep, I've crashed today (twice) and none of you win Laughing It was in fact, gravel and mud that caused it. I'll post more later (with pics) but I need the pub now!

My crashes two crashes have been:

a) Trying the spin the back end of the bike round on the mud by locking the back brake. It'd been working well until on one corner it slid, then gripped, over balanced me and threw me off Laughing

b) Trying to get more and more air on one jump that had very little run off. When I landed I had about a metre to stop in before overshooting the edge of the track. The front wheel went up the bank, balance went, and over I fell Laughing

Damage? I now have a brake lever like a banana Laughing
