How long do you wait for parts?

I ordered a DID chain and sprocket set for my brother's Yamaha SR125. It was ordered three weeks ago at my nearest bike parts shop (big name) and they are still awaiting the front sprocket.

Is this how long it normally takes? I can't believe it's taking this long on a popular bike such as the SR125.

Thankfully, he's still on his old chain, it's just hanging on - but if he hadn't then he'd be off his bike for three weeks. That's not acceptable is it?

I was wondering what everyone else experiences?

I really try not to order parts from dealers, it takes forever, if eBay can do it, I'll go with eBay everytime.

3 weeks it's a bit long. I always go mail order or ebay.
