Just curious on how legal this would be, ive seen trikes and bigger bikes, eg goldwings etc... they all have some form of speaker set-up. Well during my multiple hours of boredom i have dreamt up this quite stupid and i would imagine, pretty pointless idea, but never the less, would be interested in how legal it would be, and who knows, i might even set it up over the week...
Right so here it is.. Basically it is a twin speaker setup under the seat of my GS500... Here is the Artists Impression of the theory,
https://img145.echo.cx/img145/3897/speakers6mp.jpg
1 = Battery
2 = Speakers
3 = Bracket for clipping the seat down
4 = Under seat storage space for tiedowns etc...
5 = Brake light unit
There are more "Projects" to come, including the "Fake alarm" which is going into production for definate... so what are your inputs on this?? ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... Gilera GSM 50 ... Honda NSR 125 Aug '04 ...

Can't see it being illegal. The 'under the seat' positioning of the speakers would certainly make you a popular choice for the ladies to ride pillion with providing you let them choose their own CDs (drum 'n base anyone?) ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's pointless.
ummm, not sure how you could really incorporate the speakers, but would have to make sure you didn;t max out the battery. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Nice idea but wouldnt the speakers get wet?
In my experience electronics + water = very sore arm and burnt finger
Another idea for big bikes (goldwing, pan european etc..) is sub-woofers in the luggage rack.
You risk looking like a rude bwoy who carries round a ghetto blaster on his scooter if you listen to music on the bike.
Would you be able to hear it though?

Tried that, hurts my girlfreinds ears with the ear pieces, and cant afford a decent set up right now...

Top lad
Right basically i would lift the seat up, the speakers would drill into the top of the plastic bit that is underneath the seat... they would be wrapped in some sort of plastic covering... like sandwich bags - thus keeping them dry, and i would probably incorporate a second battery somewhere, (maybe just a small 6v one), as this would also help run a few other projects that i have working in my brain
Just set up my tool box in the garage - Top box - mid box - Roll Cab with all my tools in, so im all prepared! ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... Gilera GSM 50 ... Honda NSR 125 Aug '04 ...

They sound like the stuff! Although the loose change in my pocket may try and reject the idea
Just been out and taken a look under the seat, looking good i can relocate all the tools etc to the tankbag, and voila, space for the speakers - mp3 player or w/e and a spare 6v battery (with a little modification ) ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... Gilera GSM 50 ... Honda NSR 125 Aug '04 ...
