got my bandit 400 all is well although i've got a whirring, semi-grindy noise and i'm 90% sure it's the clutch, maybe a release bearing? (i have no idea how these clutches work) but that's my guess..

It's definitely not a wheel bearing and seems to change note when changing revs (whilst going at the same speed) it stops its noise for a second when i'm changing gear.. up in the higher gears at high revs i think i noticed it slip a bit, could that just be the bearing? or probably a plate?

Any mail order websites for bandit 400 parts appreciated.

Kev.

(other than that it's a fantastic little bike, no other problems and goes like stink! Twisted Evil )

i think i'll leave the bike as it is basically, except a different exhaust coz the one that's one it is disgusting.

I don't need anything other than whatever is wrong with the clutch, it has a clutch basket i presume? is there a chance this could be buggered?.. in fact noone happens to have a service manual for this bike do they? i've searched online but all the links are dead.

fair enough, my mate does have the actual factory manual and the vv have a stainless steel exhaust, my mate and i are both glasgow based which your profile looks to be the same so dropping parts off etc shouldnt be to hard.

hes still waithing to hear from the insurance co about when the write off the bike (should be within 3 days) but i know he has the manual now, its actualy my old bike and i bought it new for £35 with a 6 week delay getting it shipped from japan. call it a tenner and i would guess he could either drop it off or meet somewhere, hes always up for a rideout somewhere anyway.
