The way I did mine (foam sock type) is to wash it in hot soapy water a few times until it is clean. Rinse it out with clean water then while it is still damp put about half an eggcup full of filter oil over it and wring it out.
You get a horrible cloudy looking emulsion of oil and water dripping out of it when you do this. Let the foam dry in the airing cupboard and it leaves a nice thin layer of oil all through the foam without it being overloaded. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

If it hasn't been done for 2K miles then what about the rest?
FYI Hein Gericke do an offer with the oil plus air and oil filters so you can do a quick service.
