Well was riding along at around 25mph, just turned left (near a police station) when my chain comes off with a large crunching sound..so i pulled over and noticed it had come off the rear cog so got it on the rear and noticed it was off the front Sad
So took my gear off and got out my tool kit, by this time a copper aproached me (having a slighty under the limit bald tire) i think Oh balls.. he wonders over and says:

"I saw you pull over and start fiddleing with your bike on the cctv camera, are you ok?"

anyway he helped me get the thing on, basicly pushing the bike back and forward whilst i got the chain on Thumbs Up
Asked if he owned a bike and he said no, but hes doing his test next month.

Shook his hand and said thanks after i put my gloves on (oil) and i was on my way.

Nice copper, Steve.

They're not all bad you know. Get the odd jobsworth, but then that's the same in all authoritive jobs

Had my run ins over the years. Last time I got done for speeding, the cop let me have a go of the gun!!

They seem to all be moaning about the job these days. Too much politics and not enough policing.

Every time I've been stopped on car or bike, I've always found that if you're decent to them, they're decent to you. Just like most people.

Been stopped about 5 times for speeding. Not a single fine between them. A little chat at the side of the road, through some formalities, sometimes brethalysed. Then sent away with a bit of advice. 6 points for twice on the cameras though..... Doesn't matter how nice you are to a 'kin camera.....

All the cops ive met in traffic incidents have been nice.

People take the wrong attitude to them usually. Try and act hard or try to act as if the cop is "wrong" for stopping you, and ofcourse youre going to get the same thing back...
