Metzeler Rennesports

Are these tyres any good? I have seen a few reviews which say so. Anyone compare them to BT010's? I need new tyres and want to try a different make.

I had Rennsports on my R6 a few years back very good, even outstanding tyre in the dry. Good tyre if you fit them in the drier part of spring/summer and have killed them off for something different for the winter months.

I can't compare them to the 010's as I've never used Bridgestones on any of my bikes. Although I would say that the 010's are classed more as a sports road tyre whereas the Rennsports are a fast road/track day tyre. Have a look at the tread patterns, or lack of on the Rennsports and you can see the difference. Especially where the tread gets nowhere near the edge of the tyre on the Metzelers.

Have you considered something like the Pirelli Diablos/Corsas? Metzeler and Pirelli are now one and the same and the Diablos are the newer tyre using newer technology.

I was going to get supercorsa's but heard from McJam that they are turd in the wet. Also they only do like 1500 miles. I just want a decent bit of rubber for the summer.

I've got Corsas on in the bike at the moment, they were stock fitment. They aren't going to last very long though, I've got about 900 miles on them and they are starting to look used.

I had standard Diablos on my old Blade and they were spot on year round. It took me a while to get used to the Corsas even though they are the sister tyre. It's a noticable warm up time before they get completely useable compared to the other tyre but when warm they have been good, even in the wet.

Have you considered the BT014's too? Getting plenty of praise at the moment.

Metzler Racetec's are the new equivilant to the Pirelli Supercorsa Pro's.

I have a SC Pro on the rear and SC one the front and they're fucking ace tires, they're even alright in the damp if you keep the heat in them, although they don't like standing water. If you take it easy in the wet then they'll get you home, but don't expect any knee downs.

Yea, they still have enough wet weather grip to be ridden sensibly, just a tad more sensibly than more road biased tyres.

I've had my knee down (on track) in the damp on supercorsas.
Managed my knee down in the wet on 010s (smallish roundabout).
