The other day I got a copy of Motorcycle Roadcraft which I'm gradually working my way through and finding to be very interesting and useful. However, it is mainly about your interaction as a rider with other traffic. I was just wondering what other books people on here might recommend? I'm particularly interested in ones which explain more about bike control, such as which brakes to use in different situations, cornering techniques and so on. I know that these aren't techniques which you can only learn through reading about them, but I like to understand the theory of something before I start to apply it practically.

Motorcycle road craft is a great book to learn how to not crash by learning about your suroundings.

If you want to learn about how to not crash by controlling your bike and your self, try "a twist of the wrist II"; a lot of it is more related to riding on track, but a lot also isn't and also refers to the road.


The first one "A twist of the Wrist" is currently been given away free with Fast Bikes mag I think; definitely worth the cover price!

I've been reading 'Sport Riding Techniques' which applies track skills on the road. It sounds like you would enjoy thid book if you want to understand the reasons behind certain techniques.
